Sun-Hee Yeo
Intern - Supervised
Education: I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of California,
Berkeley and am currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy
at Touro University Worldwide.
Experience: Though my initial passion was psychology, my career path took a winding
journey. I explored traditional fields like law and non-profit, to fast-paced innovation at big
tech and a start-up. Ultimately, I found my passion again while working in education with
families and children. My multicultural perspective stems from my background as a first
generation immigrant to the U.S., and having lived and worked abroad in Europe, Australia,
and Asia. These diverse experiences, both personal and professional, have enriched my
understanding of the many different ways in which people live. The joys and challenges
(sometimes simultaneously!) of raising children and 20 years of marriage have also deepened
my appreciation for life’s beauty and complexities.
Beliefs: I believe that people have the innate capacity and desire for personal growth, but
sometimes this path is not always clear and it is rarely easy. With open minds and open
hearts, and sometimes a helping hand, we can get back in touch with our inner strength and
wisdom to guide us down this path. The journey is worthwhile, and we are all in it together.
Approach: One size does not fit all, and families and individuals respond differently to
different approaches. As a Marriage and Family Therapist in training, I have a family systems
approach as a foundation and a collaborative and flexible mindset. My approach is informed
by Cognitive Behavioral, Trauma, Attachment, Solutions-Focused, and Somatic modalities.
Clients: Children, tweens & teens, adults, couples, and families.
Languages: I provide therapy services in English and can understand basic Korean and
German.
Fees: $25 per session. I do not accept insurance at this time.
