How to get here, where to park.
The Pono Roots offices are located on the 2nd floor of the Prince of Peace Building at 1632 S. King Street.

We are across from Washington Middle School, on the mauka side of the street, and share our Ewa wall with Baskins and Robbins!
Please use the metered parking on the street
in front of the building.

Ring the bell (PonoRoots) and we will let you in!

When leaving your car to come to our front door,
please be careful of the super speedy bikers and runners
passing in the bike lane.

Paperwork

All Pono Roots intake, insurance, and HIPAA related forms are completed through our TherapyNotes.com client portal. Everything you need to fill out will be sent or presented to you through that app. If you cannot use the TherapyNotes.com client portal, please let us know, and we will be happy to schedule an appointment for you in our offices, to assist you in completing the forms. Note that all client forms must be completed before we can meet with you.

If you are meeting with your therapist remotely, using telehealth, you log into your TherapyNotes.com client portal to access your telehealth session.

Payments
How we bill you
We currently accept UHA, Hawaii Medical Assurance Association (HMAA), Hawaii Medical Services Association (HMSA), HMSA MedQuest, and Tricare,
and credit cards only.

Sessions are $125 for most therapists at Pono Roots. Payments or co-payments are billed before treatment. Co-pay is typically $20 per session.
You will receive an electronic invoice through
and can pay online using direct deposit, MasterCard or Visa.

Cancellations are accepted 24 hours prior to the start of the session. We apologize but cancelling less than 24 prior to a session will result in full charge.

Please see our Insurance Information Page for more details on how insurance works for mental health treatment. If you prefer that your Pono Roots therapy not be billed through insurance you may pay out of pocket ("self pay"). Any requests for reimbursement through health insurance requires a mental health diagnosis. Marriage therapy, parenting classes and coaching are not covered by insurance.
