Intern

Education: I am currently completing my Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. I also have a Master of Science degree in Positive and Coaching Psychology from The University of East London and a BA in Psychology from The University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Experience: My work experience includes mental health support on both adult and child psychiatric units and Intensive In-Home therapy for children and adolescents. I have experience with individual, family, and group therapy. Other experience includes

mentoring youth in afterschool programs and in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. I have specific experience supporting clients of all ages who are processing trauma and living with anxiety and depression.

Approach: My approach is person-centered, systemic, and includes both Narrative and CBT models of therapy. I believe that you as the client are the expert of your own life and I am there to help guide and support you. In our sessions, I believe healing, growth, and change happen when you feel heard, valued, and able to take command of your own life story.

Beliefs: I believe in meeting everyone where they are currently at. We all have experiences and challenges that may have impacted us and wherever you are at now is always ok, that is where we will start our work together. Everyone is capable of growth, change, and healing and our experiences do not have to define who we are or how we move forward. Only we can define ourselves and shape how the story of our lives is told and how it will continue.
